VIE Old School weekend!!!
#1
Chaos Zone is bringing back the VIE days with *real* CD SVS settings this weekend. The original, overpowered, cloaking shark, 30 bty start, and more! It's a journey in the time machine back to 1998 when negs were NEGS!!! Well actually, not quite, but much more neg-like. Lots of players anticipating this -- should be fun!

Stop by and green up for old school Chaos action and experience what it was like to play Chaos in 1998! Settings in NOW!!

Also: Pro League Season 29 continues, and Warzone at 5pm ET Sunday!

I like the SVS setting.

People are greening more.

Turrets are not an imposable to kill supper weapon, to try and avoid, you can hunt and kill them.

Even some of the players that are imposable to kill and have seamed like they are cheating are killable.

having to work for your greens seam to have people suicideing less and playing more of a team game

only problem seam to be as pop drops off greening becomes a problem. Is it possible for the number of greens to go up as the population goes down?

I vote for leaving these setting in and just tweaking them a little bit as needed.

me too. Its quite surprising to see that averages are pretty high too. So not many ppl neg(or dont try to anyway 8])

If you are going to change more settings when you revert, i say why not start at ground zero. Start at svs and work from there.

I'm also a fan of the CD98 settings and tempted to demand they stay in <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8)' />

Interesting suggestion by Samgunn to have greens increase as population lowers.

It certainly has people chatting about the differences.
One of the three most dangerous people in Subspace.

These are the only settings to have in the game. It makes the playing field much more balanced. This change back to 1998 hasn't hurt the population at all, except for one or two players that have found that the real settings don't give them the lame ass advantage they have in the 2011 settings, but who needs them. With the 1998 settings you have to actaully play the game the way it was intended and not handed a free ride like you get in the 2011 settings. Most people like the 1998 settings and I vote to keep them, all I hear are positive comments.

And Sam's idea about greens seems like a good one.

holy shit. are these settings still active? i know at least six people (or more) that would play more often if they were semi-perm active.

Not in atm. Debating next reset settings now since I had announced something different (Bonus System thread). See the SVS Settings thread on this forum -- please note in particular the second paragraph of my opening post there. Many interesting things came up while the old settings were in.
