Hi. Just to reminisce
#1
Hi. I was just in bed resting and for a reason I can't remember I started thinking about Subspace/Continuum and how much I used to play (specifically in ASWZ). This was a long time ago, probably like 2000-2002. So anyway I searched on Google and found this place to post. So here I am.

My ID back then was Artanis16 (dunno if anyone will remember). My older brother's ID was Auroa (people are more likely to remember him). I was never in any of the big squads but I was in a couple of smaller squads that did compete in the squad league. But those squads died quickly.

I remember ASWZ being a sub-arena for the bigger Warzone zone and then it eventually became it's own zone. I remember the base in one of the maps was called "combs" and consisted of nine honeycomb shapes put together. I remember attaching. Safe zones. Thor's Hammer, that fireworks burst thing, Repel, Cloaking, Radar, Portals (all I can think of right now). Using macros to send team messages that I'm in their base and everyone should attach to me to get all the flags or that our base needs defending. Warbird (the most basic one), javelin (high health, fast speed, can't turn well), spider (could cloak and had level 3 guns), leviathan (slow, but could shoot level 3 bombs), terrior (had the twin guns), weasel (the emp bombs), lancaster (bouncing bombs), shark (could also cloak I think). And I still know very well the song that plays when a team has all the flags and are winning.

When I played I was around 13-14 years old so yes I'm now in the middle of college. Auroa has been out of college for several years now.

The reason I stopped playing (I think) was because I started playing Starcraft again and eventually Warcraft III. I'm not sure if ASWZ died also, but I think it did. I don't plan on ever playing again (not enough time and I'm playing other games now ^^ ). But yeah. If there are any old-timers here I'd like to hear what you have to say and see if you're still alive.

Nice to see you again.

Aswz was an awesome susbspace zone. I remember some legendary games I have been against Prestige and Opium Sagez. We also had a game aswz vs Warzone that we won. A Special thanks to some great players who have made my aswz experience unique :

- Black_0men : The best aswz flagger ever from my own opinion.. This guy was awesome. The leader of our group. When he was in our team, we had the conviction we could not lose.

- Xeno : A Great captain and a solid team player.

- Loki (Roark) : The best all around subspace player from aswz.

- Hix : A Top 5 aswz defender of all time.

- Bungy : A Playoff guy. Top 5 attackers of all time.

- More Majorum (El Blazer) : Top 5 all around player.

- Dantos : Top 5 all around player.

- Afimrishi : This guy is the best aswz dueler i have seen.

- rft : A good player.. 2 vs 2 buddy. very funny [Image: blum.gif]

- Night.aswz and his bro Hobbes : third generation of statik guys, strong players.

- Divine.216 : A very solid player at everything.

- Poody : Top 5 defenders

- Tak : The one who made me play aswz a lot more. A great Pro player.

- All Statik guys, OS guys...and everyone i forgot.

wow. i dont know exactly how i ended up here. but man. what a different life. i started playing aswz in high school, and now ive been out of college for 6 years! to this day i still never found another game that was as much fun as subspace.

what great memories. late nights on my dial-up. ya the league battles we had with OS and prestige were truly epic. haha and when we beat those wzers they complained so hard about us vulching the win. that was pretty great, it was towards the end of aswz and wz tho, its too bad we couldnt keep that rivalry going longer.

tirex! good to see you're still around. i remember you, french canadian MMA fighter or something yea?

haha and Auroa, i remember him too. i always thought he was one of the best aswzers out there. i had to try really hard to recruit him.

and i remember all the other guys you mentioned of course. who else was there...

div, do you have any of those old league rosters laying around anywhere? id love to look over em.

hah yea i wonder if we could get a game going sometime. it would probably be easier with a facebook group than trying to organizing peeps on a form we will rarely check.

Good to see you guys still around here and there. I still talk to old ASWZ players all the time on and off of Subspace (via AIM also). I started playing there in 2001, and still think about the ol' flag game 8v8 that I miss. I wish it could have still been around, as well as all of the players from it. We had our own small community, almost like a leg off of the whole Subspace community. Once ASWZ died I moved my way over to Warzone which died a few years after as well, now I play Premier League in Chaos Zone, and some other old school ASWZ'ers play there, as well as Powerball. Anyways, nice to see you guys are still around here and there, hopefully we'll run across each other.

Ahmedf, lol... I didnt mention your name since you had too many. [Image: blum.gif] It was awesome to play this warzone game with you on our side. I had the chance to play 4v4 pro league with you also.

Xeno, OMFG. Nice to see you. I have some good memories with you and all the statik guys. It's sad we lost eachother after 5-6 years of playing together. MMA.. haha yeah.. i became a coach but now, its an old history like aswz is.

A Facebook group is such a good idea. We could be able to plan a game sometime easier than here. Ill start one :

Join "ASWZ" on Facebook.

Lotsa people show up to wz games - usually we have 4+ full freqs going.

I do tend to win most of them tho - just a word of warning.

I doubt anyone remembers me. The highlight of my ASWZ career was playing on Verboten (I can hear you all thinking "who?") in a few league games. I started playing SS at 14 and played all the way through college. I went to basic training, came back on leave and ASWZ had a population of 0 <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I miss this zone so much. I would drop all my hobbies right now if ASWZ would somehow resurrect in all it's prior glory.

Anyway, just dropping in to say hi.

I was in Verboten too! And The Long Patrol before that, for a very short time. I think I only played one or two league games, if even that. I wasn't much good except maybe as a defender.

I do recognize a lot of names here, even though I haven't played SS at all in a few years.

I still have a lot of old files, including a zip file with 50 old aswz maps (though many are similar). I attached it here.

I remember you KCB.

It will take a miracle to revive aswz. I think an email group could be better for scheduling small games. By this solution, you know exactly when there will be a game and if people will show up. I will start a thread where you can give your email if you are interested in playing.

Hard to forget KcB and you all, that may have been the highlight of my SS career too.

And yeah, I was on Verby too Smile

And Long Patrol, before that Redwall Guardians(?) - those were in Turf Arizona right?  I think my alias at the time was Sir Jesse.

Ah the good ole days.
