Yeah if you can get it to look formatted in a text file, code should be able to act like wysiwyg and repeat the favour. BUT tabs can stuff it up.
I still had to muck around a bit with the REPT function in excel, but at least they were offensive REPTS <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Again, though, what you SHOULD do is go to the source of the data (prior to posting on board), copy that, and paste it in Notepad / TextEdit for a start. Once its paste in a forum, it can lose more original formatting.
