SVS-98 Chaos!!!



Starting this friday we will bring back the

vintage SVS-98 Chaos Map and Settings!



30 bty start! Hardly any greens! 6 man freqsize!

Downgrades! Plentiful Super, Shields and Warp greens!

NO Bonuses! NO ranks. Streaks WILL count.



These settings will be in until the reset at the following Wed,

when the Halloween map and gfx will come in!



Expect plenty of tricks and treats during the rest of October.

OOoooo scary.



Congrats to develop who repeated as Master of Chaos!

I for one think you need to do these zone settings at the beginning of a reset. Doing it in the middle is not that great. I will miss the bonus, rank etc.



Much easier would have been to do this at the same time you did the Halloween map.

Hoping these settings are in for longer than just a weekend. Definitely going to jump back in to play, but already hating the idea of the older, bigger version of the map with the zone population being what it is.

As mentioned in another thread, I'm pretty sure the minimum downgrade energy is set too high, active SVS98 setting feels like about 400 but should be closer to 150.



I still can't believe the zone named CHAOS has non-chaotic shrap! Heresy, I say!

I loved it for its unpredictable nature and made sense within the context of the zone, but it was a stat whore's worst nightmare and made skimming bombs a dangerous gamble, like playing Russian Roulette each time you got hit. I remember when it got put in for a reset or two over a decade ago and it polarized the zone like nothing else.

the SVS weekend plus+ was fun.

But if should have been done for a entire reset. Or the scores should have been reset for the weekend. Even having a special bot to track weekend scores and give an update on these special events would be great.



I would also add a schedule for special events would be good.

Even a 3month or 6 month or dare 1 year schedue



Also a chaos happy hour daily. Where people are encourage to play and fill up the zone at that time..



I will soon be gone. It will be up to others to fly some ships.



Remember if you see the zone empty. Fly one ship. it brings 2 and so on.



The other point is i have made my suggestion on how to improve the fun of the zone. I can't do it myself its not my zone. If it was you would see more people because i know how to increase the fun of playing more.



As it is i am having fun. I enjoy seeing a bunch of fun players and enjoy battling them.

Its not my need duty or responsibility to help any maroons or IDjits have fun or play.



Its up to them. Get this through you heads maroons and Idjits. play or don't its up to you.



I would also be fine with a SUBzone under my control. Many people have asked me to make another zone with the SVS feel. I don't like separating the population and have a fondness for chaos. But perhaps it is time for CHAOS West to rise again. With prizes! Lifetime rankings! But i still think the best thing is to work together I will post more as i ponder this.



I either will continue to relax or return to making money. If i return to money making it will probably be a few years between games.

random shrap was the best worst thing to ever happen to chaos/league. like sue said, it was a GIANT gamble whether or not you smashed into that L3 or just took the prox damage and the possibility of the shrap coming back to haunt you. league negated that; said it was too random and since it pulled in the players, noshrap went. which is sad. random shrap is completely chaotic, which is what makes chaos what it is.
