IDEA / suggestion for upcoming playoffs TOP #8 TEAMS:

 

(3 weeks of playoffs, 2 games/ sunday) 6 games /team -

 

#1 regular season team comes to playoffs with biggest point (say 32?)

#2 comes to playoffs with 24 points

#3 ....

#8 ... comes to playoffs with lowest points, but gets to choose their opponent first.

 

"Teams challenge themselve - Lower ranked team get to challenge and pick a opponent from themselves. Both teams points are put to play and winner gets half from the sum, which adds to their team points for the next round."

 

When 3 weeks have been played, we check which 2 teams have highest points and those teams play for the CHAMPIONSHIP.

Allow max of 2 times / teams to face on playoffs .If a #8 picks #1 2 times, and wins both, they raise on playoffs rankings VERY BIG!

 

Best of 3 FINALS,

 

The idea of this is to get as much playing to everysquad as possible, until the end. Maybe let those 3-8 ranked play for the 3-4 5-6 and 7-8 places out, based on final points (#3 vs #4 team with points, #4 vs #5...)

 

good/bad? This system would need to check good before implementing to league. iex. starting points of playoffs team based on # ranking.

I kind of like this idea as it gives more tactical options for squads. You have to choose between getting the easier but lower points, or risk it by challenging a top squad in hopes of a jackpot.

 

Albeit, I see some problems in it too. If the picking of opponents goes from bottom to top, after a couple of rounds the bottom teams would always have to pick the top teams and hope for a miracle in order to keep their title dream alive. This in turn would mean that after round 2 or so, the top squads would always play all the remaining games against the bottom squads and squads in the middle would be left to face each other.
