Okay so i was on CPRman's (he created CPRman graphics pack for SS which i can no longer find) Assassin's (spelled with the apostrophe) waaaaayy back.  I believe FooMasta was one of our captains but don't quote me on that.  I also played with Enemy who at the time was Angel.  I don't even think we were a Pro squad either.

 

I remember a lot of people on the squad not getting along with Angel/Enemy.  I also don't remember him being all that great.  So i'm curious...

 

How exactly did Angel/Enemy claim Assassins (i believe CPRman told me it was already taken), get to Pro, and then assemble so many top pilots onto his team?

Enemy matured, existing Assassins players improved, and Mop took on a larger role as lead captain of the squad and diplomatic recruiter.

Intrepid merged with assassins which resulted in dual captaining and slightly different roster base. 

 

In my books enemy has always been a good player + good captain (atleast during those seasons I played in assassins).

I heard some story about prize money being rewarded in pro and enemy keeping it all for him self?

I was gone for a while so he definitely might have changed.  I think when he was playing with us he was only like 16/17 years old.


I didn't know Intrepid merged with assassins.

IIRC, Intrepid was actually the result of Assassins splitting after being dominant for a few seasons.  Initially, many of the original players stayed on Assassins (Enemy, Turbulence, Black, Dingo, etc,..) while Mop and the rest went to Intrepid and picked up several new players.

Not quite.  Intrepid formed after one season on Final, when Mushroom and I branched off to do something different.  After Intrepid's last season, I went with some players to join Assassins.

 

Your original post, and Nadai's, are both pretty accurate. 

 

Also, regarding the prize money many years ago, Enemy split it evenly among the players that wanted it.
