  what do you do when you spawn?

when i spawn i type ?status.



as i've mentioned before, if something isn't 100% and i don't have especially nice toys, i ship change. i don't usually bother greening to try to hit a rotation or speed etc.







this poll is here to find out if others do the same. and if there's plenty of us doing this, may i suggest a change in config so that we just start with a full ship instead?



i dont mind about energy, i'll keep a ship and green if its all 100% but >1400 NRG.



again as i've mentioned before

i'll sometimes shipchange when i run out of toys because its easier than greening in low pops with few greens

  safe zones: make them easier to get to please!

with the safes how they are it's a pain to go there.



so i ask that we make them or at least 1 or 2 of them easier to fly to.



case for making the safes easier to get into:



1) ok the biggest reason is the many AFK moments we have. what I do is i just point my shark in the direction of empty space and float over there with the stealth on and hope no one kills me. if the safes were easier/quicker to get to, i would just fly there.



most of us do this. i killed hallu the other day when he was doing this. (i only killed him because he'd left his aw on and it was quicker than flying out of the antiwarp area - which is too large anyway, but thats another bitch).



so if its easier for the guy who can change things himself to float and die rather than be bothered to fly safe, somethings wrong. am i wrong?





2) the new bonuses setup would be more user friendly





the case against:



this seems to be that players don't want Gad to run to safe. that seems to be the main reason. i say let him.



and it seems some players don't want the safes to really be part of the game.. they want them removed from the strategy. i myself welcome using safes as a strategy. ive been involved with plenty of scraps when players are ducking in and out of safes. it's fun. well it was fun.. the only time that happens now is in the castle. and the castle doesnt get used much in it's current form - (but that's another bitch)

  Grudge Match Idea

Hi guys, so this came to mind recently as I have noticed many "name duel" challenges based on 4v4 arguments.



A few pilots were discussing if name duel's are rightful settlers of grudges between pilots who start arguing over 4v4 games... so... this is what I suggest.



Let's say Pilot A challenges Pilot B to a name duel. Instead of a 1 on 1 duel, the 2 challengers fight 4v4 with other players who have signed up to participate. Let's say there is a pool of 20 people who sign up... Pilot A and Pilot B will have a coin toss to determine who picks first. At this point, each pilot will get to pick 1 player per turn until there is a complete game of 4v4.



The password of Pilot A and Pilot B will be held by a ref and the winner of the match will get the other pilots name.



I think this will be the most fair way to settle 4v4 grudges game style and it's really up to the pilot to pick the right people and determine strategy to win.



This popped into my mind after playing PB where you !join to participate in events. This could be an event on Sunday following league or war zone and could be used to settle "grudges".

Nguyens vs. Assassins was a 45 minute (minus ossi's peetime) grind.

hedcase8 finished 4-1 vs. Happy Mob, he was in with HWAP 2v4 and Llamas won the game. That's always fun. Happy Mob apparently set their !fullsub incorrectly, using it on a deathsub.

vt 7-2, 5 FR vs. SFE.



The other 2 matches were no-shows.

Rebels vs. !norating - 2nd, final, important.

Llamas vs. LSF - Important for Llamas, LSF cannot make pro.

Happy Mob vs. StarFire Elite - Important for Happy Mob, SFE cannot make pro. Unsure if Happy Mob can either. Let's pretend there's a mathematical chance in there with a 6-6 tie...

Scheduling:



-Round 1:



* match ups will be selected via random draw

* I will number each team and have someone select number combinations for the match ups

* Match ups will be placed in a bracket system for following rounds



-Round 2:



* Play the winning team from the other bracket in your division

* Should the team amounts be uneven some teams may be awarded a bye, this will be by random luck from their bracket pairings



- Round 3+:



* Continue in your bracket play.



Match Play/Rules:

- Single Elimination

- Matches will be best of 3 (first team to win 2 games)

- No substitutes

- Unlimited lagouts, games do not pause for lag outs, hop back in as fast as you can.

- Pilots may shipchange at any time during the match.

- Each player 'slot' is allowed 10 deaths before that 'slot' is dead.

- There are 3 ways to win a game:

  1. Eliminate the other team from the box with simultaneous deaths.
  2. Eliminate one opponent by causing 10 deaths. After this the other opponent is eliminated by 1 death.
  3. Timer runs out. The team with the fewest deaths wins the game. If both teams have equal number of deaths, a duel will take place between one pilot on each team chosen by the acting captains.

- If both teams die out of the box simultaneously then the game is replayed.

As the description suggests, post input on your current thoughts about pyramid vs. fixed schedules. Anything else goes too, including who you'd want to add to staff or make the league op.



I wouldn't count on us getting a bunch of new squads for pyramid to work "the way it is intended to", implying that squads actually move up or down meaningfully and we have enough squads not to need a repeat match-up rule.



I don't want to lead people either way initially, so I won't post the couple of "facts" I know about either format <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />



Oh and please, if you can, more than one word replies. ie. Fixed with top X making pro and the next Y making aml playoffs.



And no, we can't really work a 24/7 ladder system into place since we don't have an active bot/web developer to make it a viable option. The only way we could do this at the moment is to have squads play each other and post the result in agreement. But somehow I predict it wouldn't work for very long <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
