  S33 Semi-Final, Final info
Posted by: Caerbannog - 07-30-2013, 05:30 PM - Forum: Pro League Discussion - Replies (11)

ReDS and Llamas both 2-0'd their opponents to move on to the AML finals.

FTNguyen defeat Assassins 2-0 and will wait for the winner of Nuke vs. Requiem Aug 4th, 3pm as their series is at 1-1.

ReDS and Llamas might or might not play games on the same day. SFE and AR might or might not have a go at bronze.

The recap from the round was provided to someone late to the party on a very secret Skype chat group by a member of one of the pro teams.

<div>"oh dd you missed the epic games</div>
<div>let me sum it up for you</div>
<div>ass/ftn game 1: Dev bad, ass loses 12-3</div>

<div> </div>
<div>Alpha vs. SFE will be a best of 2. Based on W/L, then K/D combined. Should those tie.. we'll... settle it in an overtime mode game 3. First kill wins. Yeeeeah.</div>

15 FoaD <b>12</b>

16 Savman <b>12</b>

17 PsyOps <b>2</b>

Congratulations to Weasal, the clear best player as voted by a set of excel formulas! Well done also to Pryde who turned up halfway into the season and always came before a fall. Pryde tipped out spiritual leader Mighty Sven by a solitary point.

Thanks to all AR players for having a dip this season. Apologies to all opponents where the competition we offered was less than tangible. This was a ragtag of some folks who had no 4v4 experience, some who had mucked around with EyeQ back in the day, some folks who had played a little, and ring-ins from wherever we could get them to fill out the roster. It's been a long road (the season started in 2008 I think) but sticking it out was important. Having someone touch it is a bonus. I doubt AR will be back (apparently it's all been passed on to me to decide wtf) but hopefully any player that wants to continue on testing their 4v4 skills may be able to find a home.

Good luck to the teams that remain in their relevant finals series.

* While entitled "Best And Fairest", the latter term was not considered when adjudicating. The season wasn't fair on the players, why should the voting be?

  S33 Semi-Finals -- TWO games for everyone

<div>Quarter results AML:</div>
<div>7/21 3:04 pm Alpha Reunion def Unhallowed 12-6 log</div>
<div>7/21 2:15 pm Nuke def Rebels 12-0 log</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Assassins had a better line-up than Sterling. Then they won. It was pretty uneventful.</div>
<div>Unhallowed vs. Alpha Reunion started about 20 or 25 minutes late, as Alpha chose to wait for Unhallowed to maybe have a fourth player. Death Artist eventually showed up, which was the signal for Unhallowed to start throwing the game. Seriously, they were up until that point while playing 3v4.</div>
<div>And Rebels forfeit the game with two players in the arena.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>All semi-finals are best of 3. Everyone plays on both time slots. If the third game is needed, it'll either be after the first two games or next weekend (up to the squads). I'll schedule (for the bots) the second set of games after the first games. Just to minimize automatic calls. There's still a chance of a bot calling a game automatically, causing annoying things. But that requires a game to go into OT. The downside is that I actually have to schedule the second game before it can be played, which means I have to not be in a game to do it. So if you finish 30 minutes before ftnguyen (and I'm playing) you have to wait Sad</div>

  Playoff predictions - Round 1
Posted by: Plutorus - 07-19-2013, 04:47 PM - Forum: Pro League Discussion - No Replies

Who you got?

From http://svssubspace.com/index.php?page=4v4Predictions

Nuke vs Rebels

For much of the season, Nuke had trouble living up to potential. But after closing out the season with big wins against FTNguyens and Assassins, and with better prac habits than most, they might be the hottest team entering playoffs. Rebels started strong but have looked less enthusiastic lately; they would appear to need a perfect game here.

<div> </div>
<div>Watch: Saiyan, Nacre, Eric Clapton</div>
<div> </div>

Sterling vs Assassins

Prediction: Assassins

Where is Sterling? Usually, this would be a classic matchup. But Sterling seemingly unraveled after their loss to FTNguyens, in which Seismic died out quickly, and has yet to return (.seen seismic, in chaos pub). On the flip side, Assassins are praccing and winning - they have all the momentum heading into this one. If Sterling captains can rally the troops one more time, we might get fireworks. GOTW.

Watch: Rage, 9-Volt, Kdak, Ossi, Develop

Unhallowed vs Alpha Reunion

While other teams have closed up shop, credit should be given to Alpha for  sticking it out to the end.

Watch: cfl, Weasal

<div>Standings 21/22:</div>

<div>11 StarFire Elite 4-17 -102 0.526</div>
<div>12 Alpha Reunion 3-18 -156 0.536</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Oh, turns out FTNguyen had this (regular)season in the bag even before the last round. Requiem could only get to 18-4 along with FTNguyen, and FTNguyen would win the tie breaker on H2H record. So congratulations FTNguyen.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Results for Round 21:</div>
<div>7/7 3:30 pm ReDS def  Sterling<span> </span>12-3<span> </span>log</div>
<div>7/7 3:28 pm Requiem def  StarFire Elite<span> </span>12-2<span> </span>log</div>

<div>7/7 2:37 pm Assassins def  Rebels 12-0<span> </span>log</div>
<div>7/7 2:23 pm Llamas def Alpha Reunion 12-0 log</div>
<div> </div>
<div> </div>
<div>ReDS beat a 3 man Sterling</div>
<div>Requiem added one to their W column at the cost of StarFire Elite. On the plus side, SFE only wasted four reps.</div>
<div>Unhallowed beat BYE</div>
<div>Nuke beat FTNguyen after "late" reps resulting in wasted reps at the start of the game got them to a comfortable 4-0 lead. People exploded, game was up to 5-7, then Nuke got 2 players OUT and suddenly it's 5-9 and 4v2 for Nuke. Saiyan was allowed to do pretty much what he wanted to so he beasted up nice stats.. and only got -6 points for dying out 2v4.</div>
<div>Asassins beat Rebels 12-0 and I'm pretty sure ossi set the new record for FR at 13.</div>
<div>Llamas beat a 3 man Alpha Reunion.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Llamas and Rebels are once again the two teams on the PRO/AML cut-off. In theory Llamas could make it, but they need to win and Rebels need to lose for this to happen. If they tie, Rebels make PRO by h2h score. Other than that the splits are clear and if Requiem can defeat alpha reunion, top 2 is set.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>TOP 2 have a bye into semis, quarters are supposed to be BO1, semis and finals are supposed to be BO3. Start whining about this now if we want semis to be BO1 for some reason.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>3pm:</div>
<div>Sterling vs. StarFire Elite -- 117950</div>
<div>Assassins vs. Nuke -- 117951</div>
<div>Gods vs. ReDS -- 117952</div>
<div> </div>

<div>6/30 2:02 pm Llamas def BYE Round<span> </span>12-0<span> </span>log</div>
<div> </div>
<div>FTNguyen vs. Sterling was a rather fast paced and sloppy match. Sterling failed to not repel after taking damage from Legacy, giving him +6. He's now at 97 forced repels. Also Sterling's players wouldn't properly die from bombs they were repelled into. Scumbags. Either way, both squads can play better.</div>
<div>I believe there's a Nacreview™ video of Nuke vs. Rebels over at twitch.tv/nacre314 but as some of you noticed, their VOD playback isn't exactly top notch. Much like Rebels' subspace play zzzziing. But seriously, they have been coasting lately. Losing by large margins, not practicing, all the bad stuff. Saiyan managed 6-1 and 4 FR in this game.</div>
<div>Unhallowed no-showed, this is their 2nd no-show of the season but they are weeks apart. They are against BYE Round so they cannot no-show... so they can only get to 3 no-shows, which keeps them in the playoffs.</div>
<div>Assassins beat Requiem, which a few people said looked too easy. This was also streamed, but I'm not sure if there is a VOD of it. Requiem had what should be one of their better line-ups in, Assassins had a strange bunch of people in. And then 12-3. Something is not right.</div>
<div>ReDS beat Alpha Reunion (who are now showing a lot of people to every game, which is awesome) 12-1.</div>
<div>And Llamas had a BYE.</div>

<div>Requiem vs. StarFire Elite -- 117623</div>
