Slightly enhanced version of what's in news.txt:



--Map with new castle design is in! This castle is more like the original battle drome castle plus it is even better for base fighting play.

--JACKPOT Reward formula has changed! Previously, every freq member would get the full reward,

now it is effectively split between them: rewardPoints * freqsize / numberOfTeamMembers



--Master of Chaos was won by Static Burn when, 17 minutes into the final round, he greened shields, and JOCKER charged. Congrats!



--Master of Chaos rule change going forward:

During the first minute of the final round, all greens will disappear.

This keeps the event true to Chaos Dueling which often occurs at the edge of the map, where there are no greens. It will also discourage endless running and greening during the final round.



--Tuesday Feb 7th saw the highest Chaos population at any time since early 2009. We hit 39 players, and had >30 playing for about an hour around 10pm ET. Many heavy turrets, hunt freqs, but still no squads swarming/owning specific map areas. In any event -- good stuff!

Season 31 will start this Sunday, the 12th. The actual 3+4 pm split will be posted shortly.



Rosters will be "soft-locked" on Sunday. After that time, you may move around squads' rosters but it will take a moderator to complete the move. Both the player and receiving captain must ok the move. No moves on Sundays.



The season will be a hefty 14 weeks, and then everyone makes playoffs. I'm thinking we could even do something crazy like split it top 2 byes, next 4 quarters for pro, bottom 2 duke it out for AML championship in a best of.. I dunno, seven. To make their series last as long as pro action anyways. Or in case of drop outs, just X for pro.

Safe timer is set to 9 hours. So get your bounty high/a good streak going and when the hunters start putting on the pressure, just safe it and go watch a movie, go shopping, go for a walk.. ect.. You've got 9 hours, they'll for sure get bored by then.



Hallu - an increased safe timer is fine.. but don't you think this is a little ridiculous? LOL

Hey has anyone seen Nude for Satan!/Alpha Zone Weekend?



I hope he is all right & I miss his green!



Plus he would have enjoyed the 33+ in Chaos Sunday!



Also who is interesting in playing some alpha zone?? How about an alpha Map for next reset? or have an alpha settings Weekend. Like the DZ weekend.

To all the people who were once an integral part of my childhood/youth,



It's good to be back. After years of retirement from subspace/continuum, during which my mind would often wander to the amazing days I had playing with each and everyone of you, let's bring ASWZ back in full-force.



I hope all of you have been living it up these last couple of years. I've lost touch with pretty much all of you, and it would be great to reconnect with everyone in an ASWZ game. Even willing to bring out my brother, hobbes.fu, for this occassion haha.

I was wondering, since there's so many merged zones in Chaos, if we could have a set rotation for having them up as pub map? Even if it's just for a day. Having a set date to expect things to rotate through would only bring more players. I think WZ and MoC proves this theory. Might be a lot of work, but I think it would please the majority of people. Just need to figure out a way to not disrupt Chaos as a whole. I don't want to "kill" the zone, just bring back the ones that "merged." Any thoughts and advice are welcome.

Any way to view a !playerstats for a previous reset?

Time for a major change of pace with the new year!
