Nguyens vs. TD was played with less than optimal line-ups for both squads. Da Monkk also felt like throwing us a bone and lagged his first ship to all zeros. Caerbannog (hey that's me) stole that stats 4-1 3FR, +20, superclutch useless nail in the coffin rep assisted kill on blink. TVB almost got to 100k damage (95k).

Rebels beat Llamas 12-7, cfl lagged out three times, Perceptor lagged out once and was subbed once or so. The stats are rather evenly spread, Uni did get 6FR.

Kdak's lagged wireless lead Stearling into a convincing loss vs. Assassins. Kdak's euro-screenview of guessing what's going to happen next got him 0-3 with 4WR in 12:22. Mop finished 5-1 and 5FR and probably played for more than 15 minutes for the first time this season.

Die Antwoord continued on their Candymanless winning streak in a draft v draft game vs. Team Maimer. Arctos was 0-3 in 10 mins, some time after that Barbarian subbed in and Die Antwoord started their comeback, all in all, loose sloppy play as is to be expected. Very different from the other match I was involved on this day, although I only saw the 3v3 end of this game.

Team KN beat !norating, resulting in interesting rants by PP for the following 3 hours. Hoarmurath played for 11 minutes, but got all of his 3 kills within 45 seconds. Including killing el father twice (OUT!) by 5-1 total. Always Mind ended up with 4-0 2FR.



Round 7 schedule, the games are really starting to count in getting a pro playoffs spot now. 4 squads at 3-3 at the moment, with lots of

Mindriot's hard 0-3 practice in a lancaster paid off when he died out first for team maimer in their game vs. Nguyens. He did lob a random kill though (I dodged one bomb and hit one, but 7th? hit that one and the damage was enough to get me <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> ). 7th also MVPd it with 4-1, 3AS 5FR.

Rebels defeated The Dark in a game that could end up being important for PRO playoffs. Captor 1/2 in under 8, subbed at 14:51 and Legacy then 0-1 on that slot in 5:36 with 3,7k done 16k taken. I did not see what was going on in the game in general. Looks like Rebels used 3wb/weasel. Dagger whored up 8FR with 3-2, Actress got 7 FR. ML stole the MVP.

Meanwhile Llamas defeated Sterling, also could mean something in the end. Sterling probably didn't anticipate this, Kdak was actually playing for his draft team, team KN, during this match. Pension went 5-1 on Llamas (this is with 0 solo kills). Uni picked up 4 AS, and Aramen got 6 FR. Between the lot of them, Sterling wasted 10 repels using 5 players.

StarFire Elite looked like they could steal a win from !norating, being up 8-5 4v4 at 26:46. But then Something Dutch (I suppose he over-extended to go for a KO) died twice (more) by 28:05, making the game 4v3 for !norating. They managed not to explode to make it 3v3, but rather picked off MFa, Mauler, Jones. MfA stands out with 5-2 KD and 14 mines. Dethknel finished 5-2 6FR for !norating.

Team KN defeated Assassins, as mentioned before, Kdak chose to play here rather than Llamas vs. Sterling. He finished 3-2 5 FR, Assassins only managed 4 kill, 2 by develop and 2 by ossi. Develop got his two kills in 15:17. Ossi played near full time (and by spectator comments ate up some nice piles of bullets and bombs). Team KN wasted a total of 3 repels. Assassins wasted 11 repels. That's about enough to lose most games.

  Master of Chaos -- anti-teaming rule?

This past Master of Chaos saw a high level of teaming. We've seen teaming before a number of times; teaming in which one of the teamers ended up champion, as occurred this time. We've also seen teaming where players colluded for a while to eliminate certain people. In fact, that sort of teaming in response to the targeted player teaming in the previous MoC -- as a sort of revenge. The unwritten laws of chaos playing out as they do on a daily basis.



I wanted to start this thread so that people could discuss this issue. Certainly Master of Chaos is not intended to be "shoot the guy closest to me at all times" but it is nominally "intended" to be 1v1v1v1v1v1 etc. just as Chaos is "intended" to be freq v freq v freq v freq (whatever the current freqsize is). However, this IS Chaos, and we see alliances form and dissolve within minutes or seconds. We see hunters team cross-freq often when chasing a high bty, with an unwritten understanding between them. Or not. And revenge may or may not take place for backstabbing while chasing. The scenarios are legion.



The huge problem with a teaming rule for Master of Chaos is how can it be an objective rule such that the event host does not have to make tight judgment calls (which _always_ leads to dissatisfaction to some parties)? What could be the wording of such a rule? I solicit suggestions herein.



The alternative is to let things take their course as they would in Chaos. Next MoC we may or may not see _more_ teaming. Or concentrated hunting of the teamers from this last MoC. Or some other creative response by the pilots themselves. This has been the way MoC, the longest running event in subspace, has always been run. But I thought I'd give people an explicit opportunity to discuss it. Go. :)

Nguyens 12-1'd !norating in a pretty sloppy game. Realdeal got 7-1 4FR, leftyloosey subbed in and was out with 0-2 in under 3 minutes. If you look at the !game it will say I have a kill with 0 damage dealth, that's a bot but. I think all damage on PP was not counted.

The Dark spread their kills 4/4/3/1, but DD with 1 also got 6 assists and 6 FR. Team Maimer apparently didn't have the best start to the game, courtesy of pseudo with 0-2 in 5:11 and 0-3 in 7:53.

SFE lost 12-1, in a game where Saiyan racked up three kills in 3:43 to kick things off. The game was over in under 11 minutes.

Die Antwoord picked up their first win, yay. Rebels played pretty sloppy, but at least they did not kill our AFK player at the start.

Llamas got their first loss, because Dequadin decided to go 6-0 with 7 FR after a 6 year break from league. I guess the other players on Team KN had something to do with it too.

Sterling had a tough fight with BYE round, barely winning 12-0.



IF YOU WOULD PREFER BEST OF THREE FOR ALL PLAYOFF ROUNDS, NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO POINT IT OUT. =)

Riverside ended up 6-0 with 5 FR vs. the now dissolved Mineshack.

cfl got 2-0 K/D with 8 FR, 3 ass and a DD/DT of 28k/34k, which statistically looks wrong. Uni racked up the kills with 5-1. SFE looked like they panicked a bit, and Something Dutch wasted 4 repels alone.

Team KN defeated a decent line-up from The Dark. Develop (as i n c a .) got 5-1 and 8FR.

The 1570 eRating average each line-up Nguyens vs. Assassins was close until Dingo's subbed in javelin blew up somewhere near 29 minutes. KNeWWiN of course stole all the stats, going 5-2 and 8FR. It was a pretty decent game from both teams, although very sloppy at times.

!norating picked up a win vs. Die Antwoord, the stats are spread rather evenly. Lefty has 4as 6fr with his 3 kills.

The people on Sterling chose to show up with their names from Sterling roster, to defeat their no-showing selves 12-0.







Mineshack imploded sooner than anticipated, and with a smaller bang. (I imagined it would've been Three vs. Candyman on the squad's playstyle that does it). They weren't happy with their activity level, or how their zero pracs have not made them improve (0-3 season), so they announced they would be dissolving.

What this means is we now have a BYE slot instead of Mineshack. The squads that already played Mineshack will get enough kills added to their record to give them the same 12 kill margin before I run the playoff standings.



Apart from the people you can see via !roster Mineshack, Damnatus is also a free agent now.

The quite cleverly aliased mAImER2 went 4-1 with 6FR as Team Maimer (6 players used) defeated Mineshack (4 players used).

Street Fighter managed 4-1 with 9FR as Llamas handily defeated !norating. Llamas used 7 players, !norating used 5. In 18 deaths total only 2 repels were wasted.

I recommend typing !game 102034 for some really weird boxscore statistics. I subbed mitf, realdeal subbed DarkDenizen. KN subbed GRAMPS. All that being said, Nguyens won SFE 12-10 in a rather odd game.

The Dark defeated Sterling 12-10. Sterling was already up 4v3 at 7-5 but about 10 minutes later peng decided to gunduel three people at once to make it 3v3. Tool then snuck his spider close to Nadai for a kill, then exploded in a big cloud of bullets and bombs that were repelled at him I reckon. 2v2, Da Monkk managed to spray and pray Kdak who got stuck between some walls.

Assassins vs. Die Antwoord was pretty unsurprising.

Hachiko got 11 FR along with a kill vs. Rebels. In total Team KN forced 23 repels. I believe the maximum number you can force is 4*2*3+2=26. So that's a statistical anomaly.

Team Maimer vs. Sterling will basically be the first game where the core of the draft squad (3 of sterling, who have been there) take on themselves. In theory the people from other squads will play for Team Maimer and try to make it as hard as possible for Sterling to even make Pro.

The settings have been the same for a while now. (4 seasons or so). Let me know if you find a mistake or I forgot to list something important. Javelin was changed for Season 34.

Recharge rate: 1150 per 10 seconds so 115 a second.

Bullet damage: 212, fixed.

Shrap damage, active: 190, 90% of 212 rounded down

Shrap damage, inactive: 5, doubled when calculated, no one knows why, so 10.

Direct bomb damage: 750 - add the shrap for all but weasel, 8*10 = 830

For the nerds out there: Direct emp = 750 (or close) and 4 seconds of loss of charge, 750+4*115 = 1210 damage

Can Sath defend his title?



Come on down Sat Sep 3 at 5pm ET!



Last month, 34 players competed in Master of Chaos.

In round 3, it was down to

Sath, KinGNewbiE, Rage, 7th, and Candyman.



However, 10 mins went by and no kills which

should result in no winner!

But in special OT, Rage died to Sath!



Sath, the Aug 2011 Master of Chaos!

In the future, we will stick with the long standing rule that can very rarely produce no winner for MoC. Thanks to lightbender for adding some extra super-spam to the bot to notify the players of the impending TIE when the situation arises.

!norating had Dingo (javelin) at 2 deaths by 2-2 score. Then Assassins got all of !norating to x-2 before finishing them off one by one from 9-3 to 12-3. Saiyan 5-1 7fr.

Mineshack vs. The Dark wasn't really even close, mad clown opened with 0-2 in 1:32. The two other pilots in for Mineshack (pseudo and arctos) tried to make a move, while Candyman bravely ran away for stats. Candy then eventually specced with 0-1 and was assigned a 0-3 for his efforts.

Team KN had one newbie, one rebel, one llama and three Nguyens play. Sterling beat them in what seems like a pretty typical 12-5.

Die Antwoord (Team Arctos) managed to give 3 newbies playtime (4 if you count candyman <img src='http://www.subspace.co/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blum.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':p' /> ) based on both squads' chats, it wasn't a perfect game for either and some surprising lag deaths occured.

Nguyens beat Rebels, with Rebels helping us by messing up a fullsub (and a death sub?) after I subbed in. Clearly they were mentally defeated at that point. KN stole the stats, 7-1 7FR for +35 rating in round one.

StarFire Elite didn't have their best game against Team Maimer. SFE showed up with 4, Team Maimer with 3. Team Maimer won the game 12-2 (empty slots are not converted if you win, they are converted if you lose.) I don't know how it happened, byt MfA exploded three times in 4:54.

Schedule, there will be a draft filler / replacement round before round 3 somehow. If you are not on a draft team and want a chance to get involved, let me know somehow. Like in the draft filler thread. The idea is for the captains to axe people who don't show up, and pick up people who at least claim they are interested. This would make it easier to schedule draft teams' games and not end up with them no-showing as well.
