3:10 - 3:30 - Chase on Village Bike starts resulting in FR and 2 thors burned.  Almost a kill from a repped thor on 7th.

 

5:20 - Bad positioning from FTNguyen results in a FR.

 

7:55 - Legacy in big trouble but WARPS to evade.

 

9:58 - BARBARIAN forced to rep

 

10:15 - Chase starts on Village Bike but he narrowly gets away and survives a thor.

 

11:05 - Legacy gets in a bad spot and has to rep

 

11:30 - Village Bike floating in boxes and gets semi-rep killed

 

12:08 - ozn gets chased hard after pblanking a wall, finally resulting in a kill after lots of dodging and a 0 dmg pblank emp.

 

14:10 - Chase on FTNguyen fails.

 

15:10 - FTNguyen killed.

 

15:50 - Legacy has a terrible bounce and positioning and pays for it.\

 

18:37 - Village Bike gets dumped on.

 

19:21 - Legacy forced to repel again looks like it may have been for a teammate.

 

21:50 - Village Bike forced to rep again, setting up a kill on Legacy as well.

 

22:50 - 7th goes down.

 

23:29 - BARBARIAN has to rep.

 

25:10 - Legacy reps late and dies out first.

 

26:10 - Village Bike chased down and goes out. Followed up by a kill on FTNguyen.

 

27:45 - Chase on FTNguyen almost dies. Has to burn a rep and rockets.

 

28:35 - BARBARIAN killed.

 

29:05 - FTNguyen chased again, goes into boxes and repped in for the kill.

 

 

Video goes on some more after that but mostly not interesting BARBARIAN running.

So I just tried to log on and find out ive been banned? Not sure what's going on...ive been banned until October. This is pretty convenient.

Something has broken the normal directory download of zones so that Chaos/League doesn't install correctly. If you see Chaos/League as RED and/or having 10 players, it is pointing to the wrong IP. Here is how to fix it:

 

1) Close Continuum

 

2) Go to your Continuum directory and open up zone.dat in a text editor like notepad

 

3) Search for this: 66.235.184.102

 

4) Replace it with this: 66.36.247.83

 

5) Save the file


Now you should see Chaos/League as green, with 20+ players and should be able to enter.

There is something this game has going for it which few others games do: 

 

Simple controls + High Skill Curve + Low on computer resources.

 

I have recently read many complaints about people not being able to play many of the games released on Steam due to hardware limitations.

 

Many gamers seek games where they can feel challenged. Hypothetically: Take any of the top gamers in the world and pit them against a few of our best and they will feel a sense of frustration. This game takes some time to get used to, to learn, and to ultimately compete in. 

 

The skill curve is always rising. I have never felt a limit in Subspace. It is perhaps the most pure form of multi-player competition ever. It has no plateau. 

 

After almost 20 years, noone has mastered this game to the point of invincibility. On any given Sunday, anyone can die out and put their team in jeopardy. 

 

What this game lacks is Marketing.

 

The basic and obvious problem is that noone knows about it. There is so much we can do to revitalize this game and build its population. 

 

1. Spread the word: Get on Blogs, introduce the game.

2. Invite players to try it.

3. Promote the High Skill Curve: Entice people with how challenging it is, no matter how much of a good gamer they are, in this game.. they will have the impact of puppy ears. 

4. Create a website sharing some of the history of this game, educating people on its long standing population, etc.. I am sure this is one of the most successful multi player games ever, if not the first multi player game ever.

 

It does not matter how elaborate other games are, they all get boring eventually and require you to invest real money, or spend incredible amounts of time to compete in. Subspace has the high skill curve to curb all that enthusiasm and humble any individual.
