I'm "newer" to 4v4 although I have spent a pretty decent amount of time trying to learn and improve. I've affiliated myself with some players and I was considering joining Dropship when the rules will allow it (I'm flying their banner). I go into the arena and I sit and i wait until my cap comes up. I have players form Dropship along with others who are willing to play on my freq. I start to invite them in and the cap from the other freq forcecaps another player and I am left to watch some more. I wait on another cap and when I get it, I say "do it again" in an obviously sarcastic fashion and as I am typing that, I am forcecapped out again. If you guys can think of a better way to ensure that new guys will never play 4v4 I'd like to know it. I don't have time to sit and WATCH people play subspace. I understand that there are some logistical reasons to leave forcecap as a command but you have to make it a bannable offense to abuse that command. It isn't hard. The abuse is simple to see and it should be bannable. I'm giving 4v4 about another month to see if this is dealt with. If not, I'm not going to keep coming in. If the game can't be civil enough to even allow people to wait in line and play then it's not a game for me. Little kids on a playground can manage to abide by simple rules of play. I won't be associated with grown adults who can't.

Question:

 

Playoff game. #1 Seed vs. #5 Seed. For various reasons, the score is now tied 9-9 with 10 minutes left in the game and the #5 team has 3 players in while the #1 team only has 1 player. All players are burned. Which player in the game today in which ship, playing for team #1, would cause you to think "maybe this game isn't over"?

 

Considerations:

- The current #5 team in the standings is Discombobulate. #6 is Llamas. #7 is Backarrow.

- If you'd like, feel free to throw in a historic player in addition to your current player.

- All standard rules regarding technical settings etc. apply.

I'd probably fly this ship more regularly if the anti cost wasn't so ridiculous.  From 0 to 1700 nrg you're talking an additional 5-6 seconds if you're running anti.

 

I have a few different ideas on making this a little more balanced:

 

1.  Make it's rotation 270 (equal to that of the lancaster) and make the anti cost 110 instead.

 

or

 

2. Make it's rotation 280.

 

or

 

3. Take away stealth but give it free cloak.

 

or

 

4. Make its rotation 270 but its x-radar free.

 

 

Just some ideas i was throwing around.  Only other ship i think sucks worse is the javelin.  My ideas of a balanced ship set is that each ship has something unique but also has something that counters some advantage that one other ship has and/or is weak but has something that benefits the whole team.

What was the most competitive season? Why?

 

Up to your interpretation. It could be AML, IML, or PRO. It could be because of the quality of the finals, or that there were 3-4 squads who legitimately could have won the title.

 

 

 

 

I don't have a clear answer in mind so I'm very interested in the responses.

Okay so i was on CPRman's (he created CPRman graphics pack for SS which i can no longer find) Assassin's (spelled with the apostrophe) waaaaayy back.  I believe FooMasta was one of our captains but don't quote me on that.  I also played with Enemy who at the time was Angel.  I don't even think we were a Pro squad either.

 

I remember a lot of people on the squad not getting along with Angel/Enemy.  I also don't remember him being all that great.  So i'm curious...

 

How exactly did Angel/Enemy claim Assassins (i believe CPRman told me it was already taken), get to Pro, and then assemble so many top pilots onto his team?

Even though my crazy adventures are going to make me afk for 3 months ... i had a though/question:

 

 

I saw in another post people talking about those that are not showing to matches.  I'm curious as to why the squad captains don't choose the day and time of matches versus them being specifically on Sunday afternoon?

 

I would think this would add more flexibility and allow for better showing of players?

 

Squad Captains:  Okay we have to schedule a game this week.  What days is everyone available?

 

Squad Captains:  Puts everyone's name on a calendar for that week.  See's who's available each day.  Then talks with other squad captain and coordinates a time.

 

If nothing is chosen for whatever reason ... how about the day time just fall on Sunday at the regular time?
